The American Citizens Abroad is to host a "free tax webinar" next Thursday (Jan. 21), in association with Amsterdam-based Americans Overseas, a  tax and citizenship advisory firm that is also active in advocating on behalf of accidental Americans resident in the Netherlands.

ACA and Americans Overseas hosting expat tax issues webinar next Thursday

The American Citizens Abroad, the non-profit, non-partisan organization based in Rockville, Maryland that exists to help Americans who live overseas, will be co-hosting a free webinar this Thursday with Amsterdam-based Americans Overseas, an advisory firm that helps "accidental Americans" and other American expats in the Netherlands, while also advocating on their behalf on legislative issues.

Dutch media, politicians' focus returns to Dutch 'accidentals' and their bank account issues

A hard-line written response by Dutch Finance Minister Wopke Hoekstra to the latest in a series of questions put to him and other Dutch officials over the past two years, about the banking problems so-called “accidental Americans” have been struggling with, has thrust the issue back into the media spotlight in the Netherlands, at least, since it was posted on the Dutch government's website on Oct. 6.

Laura Snyder, as we noted earlier this year, is the sole overseas member of a grass roots volunteer advisory organization known as the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel that works – alongside the office of the National Taxpayer Advocate – to call the IRS's attention to issues that American taxpayers are struggling with, but which the agency for various reasons may have failed to realize were problematic.
