Businesses that sell goods and services across international borders may soon face major changes, as recently-unveiled plans by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development to harmonize the way online commerce is taxed by governments around the world appear set to become law within a few years.

Dems Abroad to mark int’l tax filing day with Congress ‘CallStorm’

The Democrats Abroad, which represents members of the U.S. Democratic Party who are resident overseas, is planning to mark International Tax Filing Day with a “CallStorm,” which is basically an event that looks to involve expat Democrats in calling up their Congressional representatives’ offices and voicing their concerns over key issues affecting expat Americans – in this case, the need to move to a residence-based tax regime.
