Once again, we're posting in our news section a selection of events from our regular "Listings" page, to help some of these online event sponsors and their audiences to find each other...

Even though a growing number of cities, countries and jurisdictions are beginning to relax their lockdown rules somewhat, travel bans and other restrictions continue to prevent many people from being able to meet up in anything like the way they would have in the days before the global Covid pandemic began to take hold in March of 2020...

Saturday, March 5 (10:30am - 5pm BST, 11:30am - 6 pm, CEST): Democrats Abroad UK's "Tax Day 2022," live in London as well as online 

This event is still being planned, according to the Democrats Abroad UK's Taxation Task Force, but thus far the event's confirmed speakers include Kristopher Heck, managing partner at Tanager Wealth Management, London; David Treitel, founder and managing director, American Tax Returns, London; and Liz Zitzow, managing director, British American Tax, London. The location, for those interested in attending in person, is David Game College on Jewry Street, just off Aldgate High Street near Aldgate Tube Station on the eastern edge of the City of London. 

In a statement announcing the event, the DAUK's TTF says the event is "for you if you've just moved to the UK from the U.S. and you're unsure of your tax obligations; if you've been abroad for decades but haven't filed U.S. taxes during this time; you're scared to face your tax filing obligations, or don't know what questions to ask to get started; you've filed for years, but you're not sure if you're doing it right, or you've filed every year, but you've wanted a straightforward answer to a specific question." 

Sessions and topics scheduled to be addressed will include Expat Tax 101 & Streamlined Filing; Financial Planning 101 – Saving, Buying and Selling a House, and Student Loans; Financial Planning 201 – Pensions, Wills, and Trusts; Social Security and Medicare; Setting up a business & self-employment;What Democrats Abroad is doing to change the tax laws.

The cost of the event is £40 to attend the event in person and to livestream it; those who are full-time students, 65 and over or "unwaged" are £20 each.
